Multi-Tool Pliers

I decided to try and make a pliers multi-tool which for me had to fit a large quantity of different tools and have a premium look & build quality. It features:

- Needle nose pliers
- Regular pliers
- Wire cutter
- Knife
- Saw
- Serrated knife
- Small knife
- Philips screw
- Hex spanner set
- Large screwdriver
- Small screwdriver
- Scissors
- Bottle opener
- Can opener
- Gut hook
- File
- Ruler
- Prybar

The handles are made from stamped sheet metal (and have been modeled like sheet metal) and have machined, ribbed grips that slide and snap onto the handles; the cutouts handles help reduce weight but also adds aesthetic value to the pliers. The pliers themselves naturally are machined metal and also features some extra machining to add detail and carry on with that lightweight industrial appearance; I also added triangulation, slots and notches to the tools themselves. I noticed that many premium folding knives feature thrust bearings in the hinge joint to allow for smooth action so I did the same with the pliers, adding a thrust bearing between the two halves of the pliers. I found that most nuts and screw heads were rather bland and boring so why not make them look nicer? The bolts are all sex bolts to get rid of ugly nuts and visible threads, and also feature a nice head design whilst still having a typical hex socket hole for easier re-tightening.

This was a fun project and helped me think about how the product is put together but also works together so that it can fold and open nicely without parts interfering with each other.

The pliers exploded.

This is an old render but it shows the pliers fully closed.
